Charlotte Aeb.

Charlotte Aeb´s work focuses on liminality, a concept that explores thresholds, transitions and in-betweens. In her work, this translates into undefined spaces,narratives of transition and ambiguous atmospheres.

Born in Fribourg in 1992, she studied photography at the CEPV in Vevey. After her studies she travelled for 8 months through Hong Kong, Taiwan, Hanoi as well as Hobart and Sydney where she exhibited in small galleries as her travels progressed. In 2017 she co-directed a short film based on a short story by Charles Bukowski which was screened at the Lausanne Underground Film Festival and at UpLink cinema in Tokyo. She has also been working on a series of videos called "Pornfood" in collaboration with noise musicians and on several other short videos on the theme of the flesh. Videos which were presented at the Meovco gallery in Fribourg and in Novossibirsk, 2018. She then developed an interactive project with the support of the "Migros Culture Percentage" and exhibited the result at Galerie Strates and Galerie 3000 in Bern. Since 2020, Charlotte Aeb's work has focused on the void and the characters that haunt it.

She is co-president of SIYU, an association of Swiss professional photographers, since the beginning of 2024.
